Description

Purpose: Prevent platform abuse, protect third-party cost exposure (Twilio SMS and email servers), and fix the existing loophole where trials were treated as unlimited.

Detailed Explanation:
Resolve the Unlimited Trial Vulnerability: In the current system, non-billable and trial plans are categorized as payment-exempt, which accidentally grants them unlimited access to every metered resource. We must remove this exemption so trial tenants are strictly subject to quota checks.
Dynamic Limits Resolution: When any part of the application queries a company's effective limits, the usage engine must inspect the company's billing status. If the status is trialing, the engine must apply the restricted trialLimits instead of the standard plan limits.
Strict Hard-Cap Blocking: Unlike paying subscribers who may be allowed metered overages for extra SMS or email volume, trialing tenants must be hard-capped. If a trial user exhausts their 50 SMS or 200 emails, subsequent requests must be blocked with an informative error prompting them to upgrade to a full paid plan to unlock more capacity.
