Today’s completed tasks:
• Optimized product create/update payload handling to prevent unnecessary and empty fields from being stored in the database.
• Implemented frontend payload sanitization to remove empty strings, null values, and empty arrays while preserving valid boolean and date values.
• Implemented backend product-type/category based field whitelisting and updated create, update, and edit product flows accordingly.
• Fixed category-specific field mappings and unwanted schema default fields, including Bricks category field mapping and fields such as origin, warranty, and expectedWeight.
• Added Retail product support with 5 categories: Fashion, Footwear, Accessories, Electronics, and General, including required schema, UI, product details, and backend filtering changes.
• Renamed Apparel to Fashion with backward compatibility and updated category/product screens to support the new Retail structure.
• Updated product name validation to allow apostrophe, hyphen, and parentheses, enabling names such as "Women's Oversized Hoodie" and "T-Shirt (Men)" while maintaining existing validation.
