Warehouse and e-commerce location setup
0%
Description
Description: After a company is registered, the system creates the first warehouse and the first locations, and gives the admin a red to-do task on the dashboard. The admin can add more locations or close the task. Later changes are made from the company profile.
1. Country list and company fields
Acceptance criteria
One shared country list exists with code and name, used by both backend and frontend.
The company collection has a warehouse country list, an e-commerce country list, and a setup task status (pending or closed) with who closed it and when.
E-commerce locations show only if the company has the e-commerce product, alone or together with nursery POS or landscaping POS.
A company with only nursery POS and/or landscaping POS sees no e-commerce locations in the dashboard task, the popup or the company profile. Warehouse locations are still shown.
The server also rejects e-commerce countries for a company without the e-commerce product.
2. Registration flow (3 hours)
Acceptance criteria
A new company gets a warehouse in the company address country.
That country is saved in both the warehouse country list and the e-commerce country list.
An open setup task is created for the company’s admin users.
The system writes history entries for each of these, shown in the company time zone.
3. Location APIs (4 hours)
Acceptance criteria
Admin users can get the locations and the task status. Other roles get an access error.
Admin users can save locations. Adding a warehouse country does not add it to the e-commerce list.
The company country cannot be removed from either list.
A warehouse country that already has a warehouse cannot be removed. The message names the company, for example “Can’t remove India (IN) because Acme Greens Inc. has a warehouse there.”
E-commerce countries can be added or removed at any time.
Admin users can close the task, and the closed status, user and time are saved.
Every change is written to the company history with the user name and company-time-zone timestamp.
4. Existing companies (3 hours)
Acceptance criteria
A super admin API writes each existing company’s warehouse locations into its own database as a list.
The API creates an open task for each company’s admin users, and skips companies whose task is already closed.
The super admin panel has a button that runs this and shows how many companies were updated.
Running it twice does not create duplicate tasks.
5. Dashboard task card (2 hours)
Acceptance criteria
Admin users see a red card above the date range with the current warehouse and e-commerce countries.
The card has Add locations and Close task buttons.
Non-admin users never see the card.
After the task is closed, the card disappears and does not return.
6. Add locations popup (3 hours)
Acceptance criteria
Add locations opens a popup with two lists: warehouse countries and e-commerce countries, each with checkboxes.
The company country is checked and disabled, with a “Company country” label.
Save stores both lists and refreshes the dashboard. Cancel closes the popup without saving.
Server messages are shown clearly if saving fails.
7. Company profile locations (3 hours)
Acceptance criteria
The company profile uses the same country picker as the popup.
The company country is disabled, and the blocked-removal message appears under the list when a warehouse exists in that country.
E-commerce countries have on and off switches that save immediately.
Location changes appear in the profile action history.
8. Testing and client review (3 hours)
Acceptance criteria
Registration creates the warehouse, both lists, the open task and the history entries.
Non-admin users cannot see or call the task and location APIs.
Removing a country with a warehouse is blocked in both the screen and the API.
Existing-company setup runs without duplicates.
Timestamps in the history match the company time zone.
The client has reviewed the review page and the flow matches it.
